Trees Have Roots

by Vilk Collective

about

Inspired by the personal stories of migration in both Roxana & Pete's own families, their new track explores that feeling of being mixed culturally, of being rootless & of making home in many places.
War was a backdrop to both their childhoods.

Roxana grew up in Iran & her family fled when the Iran/Iraq war started. Pete's parents grew up in the old Czechoslovakia and fled to London when the Russian tanks rolled into Prague.

These feelings are also something that many of us are experiencing in the world right now as many people flee their homes due to conflicts

"Something so vibrant coming out of this
And it’s something that is personal to these guys too
The lyrics telling the tale of their journeys in that track
Lovely beats, chilled vocals
Wonderful stuff!
